Finolhu, a Seaside Collection Resort is located in the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Baa Atoll Biosphere Reserve. One of just 26 natural atolls in the Indian Ocean, its crystal-clear waters are protected from fishing and development, allowing a vibrant underwater ecosystem to flourish. Snorkel or scuba dive through reefs bursting with striking coral, multi-coloured fish and other sea life. The resort is located approximately a 30-minute seaplane flight from Malé - Velana International Airport (MLE).
Roundtrip domestic transfers from Malé via seaplane are included in your package. Seaplane transfers operate in daylight hours, between 9am and 3.30pm. Guests unable to meet this schedule will need to spend the evening in Malé at their own expense. Baggage allowance for passengers is 20kg checked luggage and 5kg hand luggage per person. Any excess baggage will be charged at US$5 per kg, payable at the airport (subject to service charge and statutory GST). Guests must contact the resort at least seven days prior to arrival with international arrival and departure times in order to guarantee a timely transfer to the resort.

‘Finolhu, a Seaside Collection Resort is the complete package. Amazing villas, the best food anywhere, ever, flown over from Melbourne’s Victoria Markets by Emirates every few days. The chefs are amazing, preparing food as good as any restaurant you’ve ever been to. And the choices are next level. Kanusan, the Japanese restaurant, is unparalleled. The Arabian Grill has incredible options, even if you’re a vegetarian like myself. But the Beach Kitchen buffet is the best of the best. There are different themes each and every day, with three or four chef stations crafting everything from wood-fired pizza to handmade pasta and beyond. As for drinks, you can’t go wrong with an Aperol spritz – according to my wife.
As for villas… there’s something for everyone here. If you want the ability to jump off your balcony straight into the reef and swim with fish in minutes, the Ocean Pool Villa can’t be missed.
Unmissable experiences are hard to narrow down, but snorkelling is a must. Swim out to the reef break and down to the ocean bed where the reef drops to be surrounded by incredible coral, stingrays and vibrant fish. It’s just a couple of minutes from the Ocean Pool Villa or the beachfront. Be sure to make the 20-minute stroll or five-minute boat ride to Crab Shack, tucked away on its very own tiny island. This is also home to the Beach Bubble (additional charges apply, subject to availability). Alone on the sandbank, just 100 metres behind the shack, you can sleep under the stars in air-conditioned comfort. It’s booked out for weeks at a time, but if you get in early, this is an experience not to be missed.’

Seaplane Transfers
Guests are required to send their international flight details to the resort at least seven days prior to the expected arrival day.
- Return domestic transfers from Malé via seaplane are included in your package.
- Seaplane transfers operate in daylight hours, between 9am and 3.30pm.
- Luxury Escapes recommends that guests arriving outside seaplane hours arrange pre-booked accommodation in Malé for one night at their own expense.
- Guests with a departure flight before 9am may be required to check out one night prior to departure date.
